1/8 scale Tomoyo Sakagami by Kotobukiya

As my first shoot of the year, I’ve decided to start off with something simple, cute and recent from my collection so I present you Tomoyo Sakagami from the popular visual novel/anime series Clannad.

Originally released in April 2006 as a PVC, I think this is the 3rd or 4th reproduction of her release to the general community and luckily I was able to secure my order before orders stopped again. As you can see, even though it’s one of Kotobukiya old releases, I find it’s still one of their greatest work done. The quality and detail is just great and I love the cutom base provided. Most of Kotobukiya 2006 releases doesn’t even come with a custom base so I find her to be one of the special ones.

My biggest motivation in getting her was thanks to M12. Originally, Nagisa has always been my favourite but thanks to him and his uncontrollable ‘nagging’ about her, I managed to find myself liking her and her characteristics. He may try to deny it but he is a Tomoyo fanboy. xD

Well, there was nothing really special about this shoot other than trying out a different type of background other than a single coloured type. While I find it turned out okay, I still think my setup needs more light. Maybe it’s time to invest on a small desk lamp.

i like this version of tomoyo, the base is also looks good :D

more light will help, and also some photos are blurry but some are nice, try changing the camera depth of field :)

…I really need to make some progress on my visual novels. Alrighty, new otaku new years resolution: Finish Air, CLANNAD, and Fate/Stay Night before the end of the year! I can feel the Key excellence radiating from this figure but I can’t fully appreciate it ;_; Love the little details like the removable pot lid.

Oh didn’t know that this figure is released before the anime series. Not bad for Kotobukiya standards :o

I really like figures that depict casual/everyday scenes instead of the girl doing a cute/sexy pose.It allows alot more variation and nice little accessoires.

Woot! Love this figure ^_^. I’m trying to improve my photography skills too, but sadly I think I’m going to have to buy a new DSLR. Might get one next month, soon as I get paid a couple more times lol (spent way too much during christmas - and no it wasn’t all figures!)

I like the background , it suits quite well actually. And by the way, what kind of soup is that? I didn’t even know it was soup, I thought it was stew of some sort ^_^;;

nice background. i think this figure is the best out of the series. the fuko and nagisa ones aren’t that nice looking. or maybe i’m just picky. (’~')

Well, I’m quite happy with my SLR and I’m just using it’s full potential even though the shots aren’t as great as the DSLR.
I get the feeling u will be spending much more this year. lol
