Prince Gong’s Manison was just another popular site we visited as part of our tour package. Well, this place was kinda optional for our group to attend as it wasn’t as popular as The Forbidden City. We were given 2 choices, walk in or sleep on the bus and considering we paid approx. 2000 CHY per a person, sleeping on the bus is not the brightest way to spend it. :)
Just like with the Forbidden City, you can find out about it’s information and history here.

One of the most detailed paintings.

Our group stayed here for what felt like hours. The guy was explaining about the history of this place I think.

Not as big as the Fobidden City but still HUGE

I didn't walk up as I was getting very tired.

They not for display but instead you can actually cosplay in them, for a price off course :)

One of the nicest buildings. Yeah, I know, they all look the same but look at the red lanterns and how they are arranged.

It's actually a souvenir shop. lol
Later that night, our group split up and we all headed out on our own to grab some dinner. This was one of the nights where dinner was not provided as part of our tour package. This was a good time to check out what’s the nightlife like in Beijing and I was amazed in how beautiful it was.
Finding food was easy but getting a place to sit was hard. Everywhere was packed and you will be lucky to get a spot somewhere. @_@

Giant televisions are commonly found in big cities in China

I wonder what my sister is looking at? ^^

I reckon it's packed as this every night.
Not many pictures of the nightlife as we had a limited time in the area and most of time spent was eating noodles. Still, I was kinda feeling homesick and missing the westernize food so I had a chicken burger at KFC. xD
Overall, it was a fun day. I wish we had more time in the city because I really wanted to do some night shopping in Beijing.

I don’t like tours for a few reasons…limited time…
I like taking my time looking at sites and taking in the culture…(like Japan which I didn’t go on a tour…)
Those places I see are pretty nice too!!!
The mansion is pretty cool…I say it looks like something you see in those Chinese shows…
I got home sick too on my trip in HK…good thing a good old KFC was near me…sadly…no popcorn chicken…

@Rin
No popcorn chicken at KFC in HK!? That can’t be right as I had some over there.
Yeah, this is like the last tour I will be joining. I’m going solo on my next trip. ^^

Although I haven’t done one yet, but going solo can be really fun if one has planned the trip well~
lol never really heard of Prince Gong’s Manison before, so it’s interesting to see the things you have here. And Beijing looks much cleaner than I have thought!
@ Rin:
lol no popcorn chicken at KFC? I don’t go to KFC, but when’s the last time you’ve been to Hong Kong? Just curious :P

I like your reason for eating KFC. I did the same in Japan though not for the reason of feeling homesick, but more like I wanted something else than Japanese food.
