1/7 scale Signum by Alter

I reckon this week most popular figure is Signum because coincidentally, my fellow blogger mates James, meronpan and Rin managed to acquire her this week. After reading James and meronpan reviews, I’ve decided to jump on the ‘review bandwagon’ and take some pictures of her. ^^

First things first, I acquired her from Play-asia mentioned earlier this week. Because of the low Aussie dollar, she makes it my most expensive figure to date costing me approx. $160AUD which includes shipping. It would have been slightly higher if I didn’t apply the Christmas discount coupon but still, I didn’t save much overall. :s

Signum is in fact not my favourite character in the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha series. I like her as one of the characters but what warrant me to get her was her dynamic pose and the level of detail shown in advertising pictures. When I saw her up for preorder, I was instantly blown away by her dynamic pose, sculpture and the level of detail given. I knew I had to get her not matter what. ^^

Now that I received her in my hand, I can honesty say, they delivered another masterpiece. It’s everything I would have hoped for as shown in the advertising pictures but that doesn’t mean she’s flawless. Unfortunately, my one came with a few smudges on her left leg and her left hand armor have a bit of pink paint on it. While it’s a not big issue, it still bothers me as it’s kinda visible if I look closely at her. I would consider this not a defect of the figure itself but more of a ‘quality’ type issue when it comes to mass productions of PVC. Like with most figure collectors are aware, they are not always perfect when it comes to the final product. -_-

As most of you already know, the background is the  cardboard back cover which came inside her box. I’ve seen a few people use the back cover of the figure box as the background before and most of the time, they were able to pull it off so I’ve decided to give it a go. I never anticipated how difficult it is to work her around in it’s spacious spot to take good shots but I did my best. In addition, I tried the Aperture priority mode and I thought it worked well so hopefully I will be using that mode more often in future shoots.
