Despite Hong Kong as being one of the most smallest cities in world, it is one of the most popular cities where tourists gathers. While I’m confident when people think of Hong Kong they think about the shopping experience and the bargains they may get, there is actually more than you may think as there are some great attractions worth seeing. This is just one of them.
The Tian Tan Buddha which is also known as the “Big Buddha” is one of the most popular tourists attractions, located at Ngong Ping on Lantau Island, the largest island in Hong Kong. It’s said where it’s “symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion” as specified on the wiki. As one of the five large Buddha statues in China, I’m just happy I got a chance to see one up close. ^^
To get to Ngong Ping on Lantau Island, we had to travel via cable car. I can’t remember that last time I’ve been on a cable car. I will for sure remember this ride because we were very, very high up.
After about 15mins of the ride, we arrived at Ngong Ping Village. While I enjoyed the scenery, I don’t feel amazed as usual. After being in most of the popular places in Beijing, this felt like nothing compared there.
After walking 268 steps to the top, I was exhausted. Still, I felt a bit ‘enlighten’ when I reached there. ^_^
Besides, when you have conquered The Great Wall, you feel you can conquer anything. xD
Definitely a ‘must go place’ whenever your in Hong Kong. Most people visit on a yearly basis for spirtual reasons or for religous purposes but for the tourist community in general, it’s a very popular tourist place in Hong Kong.

wow amazing how they are able to suspend the cable car cables over the waters without any support in between.

Tian Tan is surely worth going for a tourist. I’ve been there when I was little, and that was long before there’s a cable car installed there. Didn’t try it recently due to some problems with it plaguing it for quite a while, and you came at the right time as they resumed the service after giving its maintenance to another company.

I think I went here when I last went to Hong Kong. Though I remember more of taking a very long bus ride just to get there. Still when seeing something like this when you’re 13 years old it feels A LOT bigger.

@gordon
There was a cable holder in the center before the next one which was on the island from what I can remember.
@Q
Ah, that was cool. I hate to take the bus and get there cause I’m tired of bus riding. We were on bus everyday in Beijing. -_-
But hey, what can u do huh, it’s a tour right? lol
@Adun
It’s still big in my eyes as it was the first time. Looking it far away, it looks tiny but it’s said on a clear day in Macau, u can see it. 0_0
@Reijin
I hope some readers won’t be offended by that remark. :P
@picchar
It’s changed some much now. I know u will buy not only sailor moon goodies this time. xD

Am liking the changes you’ve made so far by the way… if you want to get a banner up or a logo, I can help you out ;3 [though it's probably best if we wait 'till I'm back in Sydney, this computer's really slow >o<;;]
