HLJ Sale Loot

The goodies I bought from the HLJ aniversary sale arrived yesterday morning. The good news was, it arrived sooner than I expected. I chose SAL (as always) and it should take at least 2 weeks max but considering it arrived yesterday, it took a week and a day to get here. Count me lucky but the last time I recall SAL shipping being this quick was when I got my 2nd package from HLJ many moons ago.
The bad news is, my mum was the one who picked up the package so I got another lecture. T_T
- Unity May from GSC
- Louise Swim Wear Ver. from Wave
I was surprised to see Unity May not as big as I thought. I could have sworn she looks pretty big for a 1/8 scale from many of the reviews I read. I guess it’s her beautiful flower painted sleeves which deceived me as it almost covers half of her body up.
Louise Swim Wear version is my first Wave figure. I have been a bit skeptical about the quality of Wave figures given the fact I’ve read many good and bad reviews about them but still, one reviewer, James, has always given them the decent thumbs up so I took his advice and opted to give them a go. The result, not a bad figure maker indeed but they can make improvements off course.
Here’s a few shot’s I managed to take. I was debating whether to go for the black or white version as black looked ’sexy’ and white looked ‘pretty’. After looking through my ‘two-piece’ collection, I needed more black to balance out the ’sexy’ and ‘pretty’ range. xD

Cute face. As expected from Louise. ^^

The fastest SAL package I received was 5 days. I couldn’t believe it was that fast that it boggled my mind. And lol to your mum giving you a lecture.
Still Louise’s eyes look really big and that it takes up much of her face.

A week for SAL? Nice! For some reason when I choose SAL shipping from HobbyLink Japan it takes months to get to me (no kidding!) whereas SAL shipping from J-List (from Japan) takes a week or two only.
Last two EMS parcels from HobbyLink Japan I got took nearly two weeks to get to me as they were stuck in customs for most of the time. Lazy bastards at customs…

A week oO? SAL takes around four weeks or longer to Europe. EMS takes around 3-5 days.
I would choose the black bikini version too!

Using SAL and got your item in a week is a really lucky strike. That thing also happened to me only once in my lifetime.
Anyway, Unity May is a great loot, but why no photo of her?

SAL takes at best 2 weeks to get to me but usually up to four weeks.I wont even bother with EMS since German Customs will delay delivery anyways…
I expect my Sale Package to arrive somewhere around mid- to end July.
I have another HLJ Package at the post office right now and cant pick it up due to 90 Euro Custom Fees.Ill get my paycheck next week <.<

Sounds pretty past for SAL shipping indeed. What was the thing your mother was generally unhappy about? More money spent or having another huge box in your room? ^^;

My first SAL was surprisingly fast. It took a week or less. It was a pleasant surprise because I was expecting it to take longer. Not because I knew anything about SAL but because it was coming from Japan… half a world away XD

Given the fact she’s a 1/10 scale, I think they keep the eyes at a 1:1 scale to match the original character illustrations. Well, those are my own thoughts really.

I think SAL delivery times varies from store to store. Like with SAL shipping from Play-asia, it takes only a week as always, no later or sooner.

I remember waiting for a SAL package which took almost a month. I was worried it got lost at sea.
WOAH, 90 Euro, that’s approx. 160AUD. SHIT
I’m just thankful we don’t need to pay custom fees unless the item is over 1000AUD or I would be buying a lot lot less.

Wow for SAL that is fast, lucky ^^ nice figure get too, liking the Unity May and Louise is always cute despite which company makes her :D and haha moms and their lectures ^^ my mum actually doesn’t care and encourages me sometimes with me hobby but I guess it’s because I’m still young ^^ Though she does nag on buying more clothes and other regular crap time to time >.>

SAL can surprise from time to time. I remember once, it was also a package from HLJ, it took only 5 days to arrive here (Central Europe). I was very surprised then. I just couldn’t believe it was a parcel for me.

SAL from HLJ normally takes 2 weeks to reach while SAL from other sources takes just about a week for me. Can’t explain the difference though.
Unity May may not seem that big but she is a major space hogger because of her cloak.
I almost ordered that Louise too when she was announced. But Alter announce their Gothic Punk ver soon after and it’s a no brainer which one I go for. ^^”

Its 19% for everything above 22 Euro
and 25% for everything above 150Euro
Other Stuff might eb taxed even higher like lets say Clothes

It was pretty hard to control what you buy when the sale is that big. I ended up only buying two items. That Louise was tempting, but I ended up getting Alter’s instead. Great get though!

Mei looked big to me until Alter’s Signum arrived…she redefined big in my figure dictionary. ^^

I was really tempted to get the Alter one as well but the price was just not low enough. If it was around the 3000 yen mark, I would’ve grabbed it instantly. Dam, HLJ, put the price LOWER!!!!!!!! LOL
