Browsing through Dannychoo Member News today as per usual and found a shocking a post where all figma fanboys and fangirls feared, bootleg figmas. I was never convinced there will be bootleg figmas in the market  unless I laid eyes on solid evidences and that’s what I saw today when the first photos has been posted up.

As seen from above, figma Mikuru Asahina Cheer Girl Ver. gets the first bootleg treatment. Looking at how the makers were able to make bootleg figmas is interesting because I never thought once it was an easy task to pull off but they proved me wrong. I guess they wanna show how intelligent they really are and prove making duplicate figures of whatever type is possible.

Now for all the figma fanboys and fangrils out there, it’s time to get smart and be weary. Showing the makers that you are one step ahead of them by showing them that you can tell the difference between real and fake means you already won. Compared the fake nendoroids, I find it’s easier to tell the difference between fake and real figmas. As shown in the photo, the joints are more disjointed, (”disjointedzone” >_> Note: Not related to my site name in anyway LOL) the pieces look more loose, the pieces colour looks more pale and the box illustration lacks details and colour dept.

So now, how to avoid in getting a fake? Online shoppers, the only way to be safe is to ensure you purchase from you trusted online store for example HLJ, Hobby Search and Play-asia. You are guarantee to not get a fake figma from them. In case you wanna have a bargain hunt on ebay, ask for photos of the figma from the seller if not posted already and when the price is too good to be true and it usually is, so be weary on that matter and don’t let temptation suck you in.

In case you miss the info. and already purchased a fake then bad luck. Still, there’s one way I recommend in showing you how to treat bootleg figmas or any bootleg figure and that way is to smash them good like what me and a couple of my friends did with my fake nendoroids. It’s one of best ways to show your hate to bootlegs and that’s with a little rage. >_<
