Games to look out for…

E3 09 has come and gone but that doesn’t mean the excitement has left us all. Well, not to me that is. ^^

There was a lot of awesome games announced at this year event. While I was impressed with most of them, quite a few surprised me and many others just blew me away.
I’m just gonna touch base on the ones I’m really looking forward to. Theses are the ones which impressed me the most where I can’t wait and get my hands on.

(Note: Games featured below are either on the PS3, Wii and DS as they are the consoles I have. Even though there was some great PC games announced, I won’t be naming them as I already retired from PC gaming. Considering I won’t be playing them, I don’t see the point mentioning them.)

Bayonetta

Devil Man Cry anyone!? I’ve heard this game gameplay style is similar to DMC. Despite not played the DMC games, I’m really looking forward to this one. The trailer just blew me away and the gameplay style looks EPIC.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

After loving the 1st one, I can’t wait for 2nd one. This time, Yoshi is in and you can ride him through the galaxy which is cool. One thing I would like to suggest is to make the bosses a bit more challenging. They were just too easy in the 1st one.

Metroid: Other M

I bet a lot of people didn’t expect this one when Nintendo announced it towards the end of their conference. I didn’t expect another Metroid game to be out for a long time after Corruption. Still, this will be one game fans will be raving about. It’s said, it will be a whole new metroid experience and that alone has got me excited. With the Wii MotionPlus  coming out soon, I betcha they will take advantage of it and give players that whole new experience. ^^

Final Fantasy XIII

Yup, the long-awaited Final Fantasy XIII game is almost upon us. 360 owners has something to smile about as well as it was announced at last year E3, the game will not be a PS3 exclusive. What makes this game special to me is, it will be my first ever FF game on the playstation system. Having not owned the PSOne and PS2, I know I’ve missed out on a lot of classic FF games but that’s all about change from this point onwards. No  more missing out on the fun or watching from behind. Living that FF experience is playing it. ^^

Final Fantasy XIV

Another big surprise from Sony press conference where it caught everyone off guard. Final Fantasy XIII is not even officially out yet and now they bring out FF XIV. Kinda skeptical on this one as I don’t wanna think to far ahead but looking at the first trailer, it does look promising and it’s online as well. I guess I will wait for more news to come on this one.

Final Fantasy CC: The Crystal Bearers

Okay, the gamecube version was kind of a letdown but this one does look very good and fun to play with. I think a has a good solid storyline and the battle controls looks pretty funky as well. Definitely getting it to try it out. If I don’t like it I can always trade it back but I hope that won’t be the case.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Not really a Castlevania fan but seeing the trailer with some gameplay footage has made my jaws drop. One word: EPIC.
I can’t wait. Could be one of the best games on the PS3 or the 360.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Not really a big Kingdom Hearts fan but I am looking forward to this one. I’ve played the original GBA version of “Chains of Memories”  and I really liked it despite not being able to finish the game. Let’s just say, I had a hard time playing my cards right at the final boss if you get what I mean. >_<

Golden Sun DS

Yes, I know a lot of people will be looking forward to this one. I never got a chance to play the original on the GBA but i read it was one of the best RPG’s ever. Well, it’s never too late to get started huh. xD

Well, I know there is plenty more to mention and this post can go on forever but I know I will be boring you (unless you were already bored halfway through lol). It’s gonna be an expensive financial year to come and I don’t think I can afford all them unless I make some certain cut backs. >_>
Might need to get a 2nd job to fun my gaming needs. LOL

So which game are you most looking forward to? Any surprises that made your jaws drop? xD

Interesting, as I am still playing FFXI, this FFXIV looks rather interesting to me. Online gaming is a totally different beast, let’s see what they bring this time around.

Definitely looking forward to FFXIII even though I haven’t finished any FF games in a while XD I’m curious what this Metroid game will be like since I kinda like the FPS format of the last one. And I never did get into FFXI, so I’m curious if I can get into FFXIV.

I’m pretty behind on games I only have a PS2 and a DS now. Don’t really want to invest the money into a PS3 or anything else. Golden Sun might be a game to pick up though. I’ll probably be missing out on FFXIII and above, but I guess I’ve been following Final Fantasy since the original back in the 80s. I will regret not being able to check out the new Castlevania though it looks awesome.

Damn I’m looking forward to FF13! In contrast to the boring, male leads who are devoid of personality that populate most JRPGS, a tough, female lead is massive tits.

FFXIV is the only that caught my interest from E3. Maybe just because I play FFXI. Despite the fact that it’s time-consuming, I love the story so much and not to mention the cut scenes.

If my memory serves me well, SQE mentioned that they work on another mmorpg other than FFXI during past interviews. I guess we all know what they have been working on ^^.

I have a high expectation on FFXIV ^^ in particular the story line.

Its too bad that you retired from PC Gaming, as there are some excellent titles coming out that I am looking forward to. The titles I am looking forward to are Armed Assault 2, Wolfenstein, Operation Flashpoint 2, Alan Wake, Max Payne 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Starcraft 2, Alpha Protocol, and a lot more.

I just wish there were announcements on Half Life Episode 3 and DOOM 4. I can’t wait to try out my FF13 demo on the Advent Children Blu-ray when I get home to my PS3. FF14 looks to be more successfull than the previous FF MMO attempt, FF11 was, because the PS3 already has built-in Internet capabilities and a HDD, while the PS2 needed those add-ons to play FF11.

@Wolfheinrich
As already mentioned, I’m waiting for more news to surface up. I’m stilled surprised they announced it this early when FFXIII is not even out yet.

@nyoron
Checked it out. I will look at my budget when that times arrive.

@Blowfish
Thanks for the heads up matey.
That’s a shame but nevertheless, still a get.

@phossil
Indeed as always.

@Michael Flux
I wished it was released this year. The hype is starting to get me. lol

@lightningsabre
To be honest, I haven’t even finished off the first one. Like I got my gamecube late so I started on the series very late. It’s still ur usual FPS in the same context.

@Persocom
If there’s ever a price drop, I would recommend investing in one as u are missing out on some of best games to come in the next year or so.
If u played the original Golden Sun, then I sure u will like this one.

@Snark
Is massive tits ur favourite 2 words? xD
Yup, she’s gonna rock. lol

@Chappy
There has been some great feedback on the new FF CC. I really hope that’s the same feedback given when they review the actual game.

@zenical
No doubt, almost every PS3 owner is eying out on the new FF series. lol

@Saku
I never played FFXI so I don’t know what to expect. lol
Thanks to ur positive view of the game, I might just love this one as much as FFXIII.

@paradigmshift
It’s because I’ve always been a console gamer than a PC gamer. I got in to PC games ONLY during the time where there was a big hiatus from the pending release of the new Nintendo console. Still, I don’t regret playing some great PC games like Star wars, Warcraft, Starcraft etc.
