Sydney Supanova 09: Part 2

Continuing where we left off from Part 1, here are more cosplay goodness from the convention, Most of these photos are taken back stage behind the Madman National Cosplay Competition and the regular Cosplay Competition because I was unable to get any front row seats for the event. Most unfortunate indeed considering it was already packed as it is but luckily most of them hanged out backstage so I took advantage of that opportunity to get more shots before they walk away.

My favourite cosplay throughout the day was the villain from LoTR (first photo of the post). The photo just doesn’t do it’s justice as it really needs to be seen with your eyes.

I’m pleased to see so many people attended this year. Judging from the crowd and the variety of cosplayers, there was definitely more people compared to last year. It’s starting to become a very popular and well recognized event in Australia as it even made it on Channel 7 News.

Overall, I thought the event was great and I will heading back there next year. Next year I will make an attempt to go for the 2 days instead of just the one. I know Sunday is always not as busy as Saturday but consider Sydney doesn’t have many conventions compared to the rest of the world, it’s always fun to enjoy the whole 2 day event before it finish up for another year.

My last post of the event will be my loot post. Don’t expect anything epic as I currently don’t have the space to display my current epic goods.

Ahh~ Saturdays are so much better than Sundays [at least in terms of cosplay] u_u~ I’m definitely going to try attending on a Saturday at least next year.
I took quite a few pictures, but not as much as i could’ve have… I still don’t feel quite so comfortable asking people to pose for me lol!

The butterfly dude looks awesome, I just have no idea where he’s from xD;; lot’s of excellent cosplay photos in your 2 posts, nice work~

On another note, a friend of mine is thinking about cosplaying properly next year [he went as Calsies? Angel dude from Supernatural, I don't watch it] this year, but said he wears the same thing to work, xD. And so I’m thinking maybe I’ll do so too, hehe. Just have to find a few maid characters for myself and a male [pref. violin player] for my friend.

Really awesome cosplayers, the first costume in this part was the coolest but I like the Zero suit Samus for aesthetic reasons ;D

That Witchking cosplay is too cool. I used to (and still am) a major fan of Lord of the Rings. Even have a replica Witchking Sword but never bought the helmet. Think there was a place to buy the other armored parts but all of this stuff is quite expensive. Congrats to the cosplayer though. Looks great all together.

Awwwww… u gotta have confidence. Most of the cosplayers wouldn’t mind at all because they are cosplaying and they want to get their pictures taken.
As long as u had fun on Sunday, then it’s all good.
