The Summer series has already begun and while a few started last week, the rest will begin sometime this week or the next.

Just like my last season post, I’m just giving you guys a run down on which series I’m catching this summer and which series you should recommend me to give it a go. (I really wish it was summer here but the winter season this year has been getting on my nerves. To tell you the truth, I hate Winter >_<)

Spice and Wolf II

Out of the all the series being aired this summer, Spice and Wolf II is the only anticipated series I’m looking forward to. I love the first season and I have high hopes for second. Watching the relationship grow between Holo and Lawrence was one of the highlights in the series and I do look forward in that relationship deepening if possible. In addition,  the economic trade and the remarks from the ‘wise wolf’ just makes this series a joy to watch. If you already watched the first season then you know what’s coming.

Canaan

With character designs from TYPE-MOON from what I read, it’s currently met with some high-expectations. A few weeks ago, I was like ‘meh’ but after checking out the OP, I was like ‘alright’. xD
Overall, I’m willing to give this one a go. If your a TYPE-MOON fan then you should as well.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

The first thing which came into my mind was “Tokyo getting hit with an earthquake”. Well, I’m sure that’s what many first thought when they read the title. As a fan of disaster movies like “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Volcano” starring Tommy Lee Jones, I will be sure to give this one a go. Reading the plot summary from ANN, the story is gonna be centered around Mirai, a middle school freshman girl and a few others for their quest for survival. I guess I will see how their quest of survival turns out.

Sora no Manimani

WOOT!!! Astronomy. WOOT!!! Space. xD
Yes, I’m a sucker for space series and while it doesn’t involve the students being in space, it’s somewhat related as the story revolves around an astronomy club. Hopefully a group will fansub it so I can at least enjoy it even though not many people may like it. >_>

Aoi Hana

So I read there’s YURI. ALRIGHT, COUNT ME IN. :P
Honestly, it looks like another typical ‘high school drama romantic’ series. I’ve watched many from the time I made watching anime more as chore than a hobby and surprisingly, I always finished it regardless how crappy it started or how it ended. -_-
This time round, if  I’m not enjoying it “STORYWISE” then I’m giving it the boot.

Princess Lover!

Another harem series FTW. >_>
I overlooked this one but after seeing the trailer I reconsidered. There was some good action moments in there and some ‘eye-candy’ moments as well so I will give it a go. I guess I judged it too soon based on the title which is a no-no.

Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto~

This series has started last week and I have yet to watch the first episode. To be honest, I’m not really in a rush to make a start. Usually with less anticipated series, I either wait until I have 3-4 episodes or the complete series before I start. That way I can either give a verdict at the end of the 3-4 episodes if I wanna continue or not and/or watch it at my own pace.
From what I read, it’s a “mahou shoujo mermaid adventure story”? I will see how it turns out.

Last but not least, I’ve decided to pick this one up. It just started yesterday and I was pleased in what I saw in the OP. A catchy tune with cute girls so yeah, it’s worth a shot. Sometimes when an OP catches my eyes and ears, I’m more likely to dive into the series and see how it goes.
Credit goes to Zenical for trying to poison me with HOCCHAN ED post. Be patient and eventually I might like it. Might wait for the PV to see how that turns out first. xD

So that’s the end of my run down. If you have other recommendations then please feel free and to make a note. Depending how I can jam all of this season in and continuing on from last season and not to forget on a few past past season where I have yet to start will be a different story.

I know it’s impossible to watch them all with work and everything else but at least I know I have something to enjoy. ^^
