Megami Magazine Vol. 111: My Impressions

If you are wondering what happened to Vol. 110 review, well unfortunately I did not buy that issue hence no review. I checked out the posters in that volume and I found not a single one was deemed ‘eye-catching’ to me. It’s either because of that or my level of expectation is a lot higher now considering I’ve been a regular buyer for so long. In addition, there was not extra goodie at all so missing that issue was no big loss for me.
Expect many more to come as I slowing begin phasing my regular purchases. Enjoy them while they it last. ^^

This month featured edition is Rebuild of Evangelion: 2.0. I am aware most of you already watched the series many moons ago but unlike me, I’m still following the original series on DVD. I bought my months ago but I’m still at the beginning like at around ep. 5. You could say I’ve been taking my sweet ass lazy time watching it. Other featured articles include Miss Brain, Queen’s Blade: Rurou no Senshi, Sorakake Girl, and Kanokon Season 2. I’m so looking forward to another fun filled ride with Kanokon. Despite how crappy the storyline was, the fanservice makes it up. xD

The extra contents inside this month issue includes a double-sided plastic board featuring K-ON! and Rebuild of Evangelion: 2.0. In addition, it also includes a K-ON! master work booklet featuring the story and the characters of the series. Honestly, the little book looks pretty neat. A very nice addition indeed.

The scans can be found here. Vol.110 scans can be found here for anyone whose still interested.

Overall, a very good issue. A few standout posters included Spice and Wolf II (Holo :3), Higurashi, Canaan, Saki (despite not liking the series) and Tayutama ~Kiss on my Deity~. The plastic board looks great but I would’ve preferred a pencil board or a mega poster instead. It’s just my preference as I generally don’t have much use with plastic boards. As already mentioned, the K-ON! master work booklet is a nice addition as well.

Your best chance to grab a copy will be at Hobby Search as it’s already ‘discontinued’ at HLJ. Seems to me, this month issue is a HOT one so don’t miss out.

    This seriously reminds me that I’ve watched almost none of the anime above lol…

    And a dark warning to tell me that I really should resume Toradora asap; it got left behind when other hobby backlogs have caught up with me recently >_<;;

    @garturo62
    Better hurry, they are selling fast.

    @phossil
    No because they have the K-ON booklet instead I reckon

    @ron
    Oh you them as well? Hmmm…. I saw a stash of magazines in a bookcase aligned properly which looked like megami.

    @ArticlesADay
    Welcome. Hope ur loving this my site.
    Thanks

    @Rin
    U better. It’s awesome. :D

    @Chappy
    Too hot to be hooked up unfortunately. :S

    @Blowfish
    I was disappointed as well. I wanted a K-On megaposter.

    @Q
    I haven’t even started Toradora. It somehow dropped out of my mind but after seeing hocchan doing the PV for the ED and hocchan is one of the seiyuu of the characters, I got to pick it up.

    @Otaku Dan
    It’s a fail for some ppl like u who were expecting a mega poster. Even me. -_-

    Thanks for your review on the Megami yet again, I think I will pass this one up as there aren’t too many good pull out I am interested in. Actually, I beg the difference in QB, I thought it turned out rather nice near the end.

    It turned out really sweet in ur favor so it is a sign for u to get it. :P

    @T.I.P
    Any bookcase will work nicely. Anyway, u don’t need a bookcase at the moment. U can put them on the floor. LOL
