Megami Deluxe Vol. 13: My Impressions

Megami Deluxe Vol. 13 is the 2nd deluxe edition out for the year. As there are only 2 editions released per a year, this will be the last one for the year sadly.
Still, Gakken Mook always surprises me in selecting the ‘best of the best’ illustrations to be worthy inside. Considering it’s like an artbook, readers need to be pleased in what they will see as it’s not news and previews of anime series, games and goodies they will take in but ‘pleasure’ from many beautiful and sexy illustrations in the end. :D

Still unsure what’s the difference between the regular and the Deluxe edition, check the quote below taken from Megami Deluxe Vol. 12 “Impression” review.
As most people are now familiar, the Deluxe edition is a magazine artbook containing illustrations from the past regular megami volumes. The differences is, there are no anime and character catch ups like you see from the other regular volumes and most of the illustrations are the same from the posters.

If you haven’t been collecting the regular editions or you prefer having all the ‘best of the best’ illustrations in one spot (like me) then this is the magazine for you. Fans of the series Saki would not be disappointed as well considering the B2 poster of Saki and the very sexy “Nodocchi” is included. Dam, there was steam coming out of me when I took her shot. xD
Overall, as already said, a very pleasing edition. Considering there’s only 2 editions per a year, I say to you “why not!?”
It’s really money worth for this little beauty. ^^
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find any listings in any of the popular online stores so I would suggest to check your local Kino or bookstore to see if they have some in stock. Sydney readers, there’s plenty of them at our local Kino. ^^

Sucha a K-on and Saki heavy issue-_- I wish they would have put more variety. Since I can never find the Monthly releases on Kino’s site I might pick it up since they always have these. Love you magazine reviews by the way^^ Your one of the few people I see doing them.

If I get stuff from them, like the Tony Taka Shining Art book, I had a friend pick it up and snail mail it to me… maybe J-list would have it?

oh those are really nice K-ON posters … but I think I will skip this one since the B2 posters doesn’t attract. These big posters are usually one of the deciding factors for me. ^^

Thanks matey. It’s because many would prefer buying figures than the magazine itself and I guess, to do a proper review of the magazine, u will have to buy them to actually do one. U see, this is my way in showing how much I like 2D girls as well. xD

Before I had that in mind but when I think about it, the collection of illustrations insides over weighs the B2 poster and since there’s only 2 volumes per a year and they are usually cheaper than the regular volumes, I just grab them for the love of them.

Taking the illustrations out will mean tearing the magazine apart. It’s more of an artbook than a poster book.

It’s an artbook, why would they care?
The customs runs things through a scanning machine, like they have at airports. It sees a book, it doesn’t really open it.
If the customs stops you, it’s because it’s unsure of the item’s value, or that it doesn’t fit the declaration of costs. If it’s one book, and you have your friend mark it as “Gift”, then it’s ok.
Besides, the book did cost enough to pass under the customs’ bar.
The customs is very bitey here. Mostly in value, items over $50, and over $75 for books sent by personal people to you. My friend is a person sending something personally to me, heh.
But you pay through the nose if they truly stop you, I might write about it.
I am not sure what they do with porn, there is a clause about “Loathsome content” (no way to translate it properly), but I think regular porn passes in modern times. Loli porn probably won’t, and I’m unsure on the legality of owning cartoon loli porn in Israel, and I’d rather not find out.
The age of consent in Israel is 16, BTW, which has some bearing.

Still kinda strict if i think about.
I think customs here are more on the lookout on drugs, items that may carry diseases and illegal and offense material rather than loli or loli porn related. Considering we are on an island, items carrying diseases is a big threat because the last thing we want it a outbreak of a disease where it will cost us millions of dollars to find and cure and contain. Basically live stock could be impacted and businesses ruined if this was the case.
