1/8 scale Feena Fam Earthlight by Max Factory
Next up in my 5 shoots in 5 days, I am proud to present the lovely Feena-chan from the manga and anime series Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na. One of the beauties of what attracted me to this figure was her swimsuit. I understand many will find her swimsuit is kinda plain and boring but if you know me, I’m a ‘die-hard’ fan of swimsuit figures and this one was a GET!!!. In addition, I’m a Feena fanboy so off course, this one was a MUST GET!!!. xD
1/8 scale Feena Fam Earthlight was a figure originally released back in April 2008. Looking back at Max Factory old releases till now, I can see there really hasn’t been too much of a change in their quality of releases. The quality of the scuplt is superb and the detail is very neat and precise. Despite the fact now, Max Factory is concentrating more on the figma lineup, you got to give credit to them they are still one of the best PVC scale figure makers out there and their quality of releases shows.
The downside of this figure is the way how you remove her pareu. I wish Max Factory added a option to unclip it from the side other than pulling it down from the legs because now her legs has blue stains from the pareu. It’s not visible from a distance but when you want to admire her legs, u can clearly see the blue coloured stains is ruining her sexy legs. :(

This shoot was actually done a long time ago. If I recall, it was done on the same day I did the Mikuru Adult Version shoot.
As you can see, I didn’t do anything special other than it was a simple shoot with a simple background I used before and a few nice shells, I used before as well. I thought the shells was a nice fit to the theme of the shoot because it is a beach theme shoot after all. xD
Look forward to my 3rd shoot from the 5 shoots in 5 days tomorrow.

Really nice figure. What makes it so nice is that this seems like what I want to see: Not a flat-chested loli, not an oppai-tastic figure, but what seems like a nice, sweet girl that one could run across, almost, who is sweet.
I think her head might be a tad too big, and it’s funny she has a support rod for her hat, which seems much smaller from the front :)
I love her pareu. I love these things in real life as well. Just a sweet figure. I’m not sure I’d call it “simple”, but more along the lines of “Minimalistic” or “Realistic” in the sense that adding anything more would just push that it’s not a real person. Her face, her hands behind her back, her pareu, all together, just great.

Nice figure and lovely photos of her. She does indeed look rather plain or minimalist like Guy says above but that’s indeed not bad once in a while to have a more simple and realistic figure.
Still doesn’t match up yet to the amazing sculpt and finish of GSC’s Mitsuki Hayase figure which is one of the -if not the- best bikini clad figire to date.

The Figure looks nice and I actually wonder why you tried to remove the pareu in the first place.Its like one of the coolest thinks about her if you ask me me.I hope you didnt do it to only for this review.

An interesting and descriptive comment Guy. Thanks, but one thing I don’t get is ur view of her head. How the hell is her head a tad too big? Is it because of the hair because it’s just perfect to me.

Well, looking at Mitsuki Hayase design and pose compared to Feena, off course there’s no doubt she’s one of the best two-piece figures out there. It’s another reason why I have her in my collection as well. ;)

What’s wrong in removing her pareu? I should be asking u the same question when u cast-off ur QB figures. Do u do it just for the shoot? ;)

Adults’ heads are 1/7th of their body. At least that’s how they are drawn and portrayed. When a child is born, a head is half the size (length) of their body. Her head is too big compared to the rest of her body, it takes too much real estate.
And I’m sorry. I have a very keen eyesight, and where others need to look for the bad things, I have trouble not seeing them. I’m a master critic.

This figure has a sandy base! Finally!
I remember reading comments about how Feena’s legs seem a bit long, but I’m not so sure on that. Didn’t expect to see a stand for Feena to hold the hat. Can it stay in her hands without the stand?
Like the shells you’ve used there. Simple addition but effective!

Yup,Im casting off my QB figures just for the shoot.To be precise I am shooting my figures shortly after the unpacking since you have to cast them off to remove the plastic wrapping underneath the clothes.Their boobs never see the daylight after that ever again

Swimsuit figures are lovely, especially when they come with a sandy looking base. I’m not really into swimsuit figures because most of their poses (and outfits, duh!) are boring. They do look really sexy though. ^^
It’s too late now, but one trick I use if I have to slip something that’s really tight onto/off a figure is I would slip one of those plastic films, that protects the figures when they’re new, between the figure and what you’re trying to slip off. It protects the paint on the figure.
