1/8 scale Yukari Morita by Kotobukiya & Chrono Gate
Coming to the halfway mark of my 5 shoots in 5 days, it’s time to deliver the 3rd shoot. Presenting the cute, suited up lolicon Yukari Morita from Rocket Girls who is ready to head off into space for another mission from the Solomon Space Agency. Well actually, she’s almost ready because as you can see, she’s still trying to zip up her space suit. It’s gonna be a tight fit but she knows she will manage. xD
Picked her up from the HLJ sale many months ago when she was discounted to less than half price. As already mentioned in my HLJ sale post, I have been eying on her for a very long time ever since I finished the series many years ago. As the price held me back for a very long time and missing out in getting her for a bargain price at Hobby Search, I knew it was now or never ever again during the sale.
As the figure is a collaboration work between Kotobukiya & Chrono Gate, they really focused in getting the little details right especially the oxygen tank on the back of the spacesuit. I don’t have a vivid image of the suit itself considering it’s been a long time since I watched the series but looking at the illustrations from the box, it’s almost close to perfect. In addition to this, I also wanna give them credit in getting the finer details of the logo clear and precise. Sometimes it’s hard for the makers to get this part right and at the same time, make it stand out but honesty, I thought they over exceed my expectations on this bit.
Other than that, you can’t miss it as a Kotobukiya work. The scuplt and the rest of the details given is a dead set giveaway and while Kotobukiya is gradually improving on their new figures line up, we all know they still have a long way to go to match up with GSC, Max Factory and Alter.
Oh Yeah. xD
Love how they got the logo just perfect. ^^
Another great item included with her is the launching rocket. The rocket can be displayed on it’s own or next to Yukari on top or beside her base. One thing I can say about the rocket is, it’s a exact replicate of the one from the series but in a scale format off course.
Are Japan rockets built in this design?
Here’s a height comparison
Still available at HLJ, she’s a nice addition to have in your collection if your a fan of the series or you just like girls with rockets in general. While the price is considered slightly high, it’s not a figure to stress over about considering there are other great Kotobukiya figures out there.
Still that’s just my opinion considering I’m the lucky one who snatched her for less than half price. xD
Look forward to my 4th shoot tomorrow as we are nearing the end of the 5 shoots in 5 days.
I hope you have been enjoying it so far. :)

Pretty shoddy workmanship… and I dunno, almost all Kotokubiya figures I’ve seen, and mostly the Shining Wind/Tears ones look way better.
I mean, this figure’s hair, chest, the oxygen pack… not sold, at all.

Meh, her outfit doesn’t fit my tastes and the front is a bit ecchi, but I haven’t watched the series that she’s from.
I seem to be paranoid about quality on my figures now, so this one isn’t up to par for me.

Yup it’s possible but dude, i’m not that kind person. Come on man, I’m upholding my reputation here. :P
@Guy
The only figure I’m sold by them is their rendition of Yoko. Really, that’s the best figure I’ve seen make to date. I’m happy I own her. xD
@Reltair
If u start to get picky now even when u started a few months then that’s great. U will save a lot in getting the figures u want. ^^
@Yi
LOL. I can’t complain about that. xD
