Tomás writes the reviews from Porto. He listens for arrangement, playing, and how a run of songs holds together, on new records and on reissues that still reward a full play. A thin record gets a short piece. A record with a real structure gets room to say where it works and where it sags. He does not grade by surrounding chatter, and he does not pad a review with a band's backstory.
